The Joy of Inner Peace
Philippians 4:4-7

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

v6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

v7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

“No God, no peace.... Know God, know peace.”

Psalm 29:11 The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.

1. Rejoice in the Lord v4

Where Jesus Rules, Joy will Reign!

Philippians 4:4 Delight yourselves in the Lord, yes, find your joy in Him at all times.

2. Be Gracious To Others 5a

3. Be Aware of God’s Presence v5b

James 5:7-8 Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Psalm 119:151 But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true.

4. Don’t Worry v6a

Luke 12:22-23 Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.

1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

5. Pray About Everything v6b

“Turn Your Cares Into Prayers!”

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

James 4:2b... Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

v7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
