The Authority Of The Word Of God
Matthew 5:17-20

v17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

v18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one [a]jot or one [b]tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
v19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
v20 For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus and the Law v17

Matthew 12:1-2 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry,
and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, “Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

Matthew 6:16-18 Moreover, when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face...and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Luke 16:29...They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

Deuteronomy 30:15b-16 ...I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.
The Immutability of God’s Word v18

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.
